Overview
Woodside was an interesting renovation. The 2-bedroom cottage hadn’t been lived in for over a decade, and the attached barn was in extremely poor condition.
We completely renovated the cottage and added the barn to create a beautifully tailored space specific to the client’s requirements.
The clients lived locally and were looking to create a property they could enjoy their retirement in.
The project had a tight deadline as the clients were due to move from their existing home.
We used our same trusted subcontractors and through exacting project management, met the deadline with time to spare.

Our cottage, Woodside, required a total renovation. Andrew Calvert was responsible for the project.
Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He patiently explained every aspect of the renovation; roof, underpinning requirements, floor excavation for insulation and underfloor heating, insulation regulations, new package treatment plant with drainage field. Andrew project managed the build, liaising with ourselves, Building Control and all the other trades involved to ensure everything ran smoothly. In addition, his experience was invaluable to us as he was able to suggest aspects of the build that we wouldn’t have thought possible, e.g. increasing door heights, lowering windows, raising a ceiling, a vaulted ceiling upstairs, all of which we now benefit from on a daily basis.
We were particularly impressed with the way Andrew liaised and worked alongside his staff. Everyone worked extremely hard as a team.
